In 1987 budding artist Mitch Dowd rocked the fashion world with his ground breaking hand painted boxer shorts. Looking to raise money for an exhibition Mitch hit Melbourne’s Chapel Street looking for buyers. Within a week he had sold 150 pairs and was able to set up his exhibition.
Myer and David Jones then jumped on board and the Mitch Dowd brand was up and running.
The Mitch Dowd range grew from it being a boxer and trunk business to one that includes sleepwear and socks for mens, womens and kids.
30 years on Mitch Dowd is one of the very few privately owned clothing business’ in Australia where it remains a market leader with a loyal customers base throughout Australia and New Zealand.
In the last seven years Mitch Dowd has focused on building a foundation around four key pillars. And while these are critical to the success of Mitch Dowd, we continue to seek new opportunities that are aligned to Mitch Dowd and can support future successes.
